Halfords International Pty Ltd ("HI") has created this Privacy Policy in order to demonstrate its commitment to the Privacy Act 1988 ("the Act") and the National Privacy Principles ("the NPP's").
The Act and the NPP's apply only to personal information and by definition, companies are excluded. However, it may be necessary for HI to obtain personal information about the owners, directors, officers, employees or associates of a company in order for us to provide our professional services.

HI generally collects personal information such as names, addresses, date of births, gender and occupations. In most cases this information will come from individuals themselves, but in some cases may come from credit reporting authorities or sources that are available to the public in general.

HI may use and disclose your personal information for the primary purpose for which it is collected, for a secondary purpose which is related to the primary purpose where that relationship is reasonably expected and in other circumstances authorized by the Act.
Such purposes could be, but not restricted to:

* Marketing our services and products;
* Comply with our legal obligations for the importation and exportation of goods such as the Australian Customs Service, Australian Tax Office, etc;
* To help us manage and improve our services and processes.
It should be noted that sensitive information will only be used for the purpose for which it was provided or a directly related secondary purpose, unless otherwise agreed.
Security of
Information:
The Act requires HI to take reasonable steps to protect the security of personal information. Our staff are required to respect the confidentiality of personal information and the privacy of individuals.
We take reasonable steps to protect against loss, misuse or alteration of personal information under our control by using security measures such as restricted access to systems and records, unique system passwords.
Where personal information is no longer required for the primary purpose, reasonable steps are taken to destroy that information.
Update of
Information:
We endeavour to ensure that the personal information we hold is up to date, complete and accurate. Changes are inevitable, errors do occur and we request that all necessary steps are taken to ensure the accuracy of information.
